Mikrotik + Mosslink AX3000 Hotspot Setup Guide
Devices Involved
- Router: Mikrotik RB951Ui-2HnD (referred to as MK)
- Access Point: Mosslink APM6-AX3000 (referred to as AX3000)
Step 1: Initial Setup of AX3000
- Power up the AX3000:
- Connect the PoE port of the 48V PoE adapter to the AX3000.
- Connect the LAN port of the PoE adapter to your computer.
- Note: Use a 48V PoE adapter to ensure correct power supply.
- Access the AX3000 configuration page:
- Open a browser and visit
http://192.168.62.1 - Set Wi-Fi SSID and password, then click Save.
Step 2: Set Up the Mikrotik Router (MK)
- Power on the MK:
- Plug in the 24V DC adapter to the power port.
- Connect ethernet1 to your main router or ONU.
- Use ethernet2 to ethernet4 to connect to a PC or the AX3000.
- Login to Mikrotik:
- Open browser at
http://192.168.88.1 - Use the default login shown on the router label.
Step 3: Enable Hotspot in MK
- Navigate to
IP > Hotspot > Servers - Add a new server:
- Name:
mosslink - Interface:
bridge - Address Pool:
default-dhcp - Idle Timeout:
30s(recommended)
- Complete the Hotspot setup.
Step 4: Add Hotspot User
- Go to
IP > Hotspot > Users - Click + Add
- Create a user (e.g.
user1, with password). - Make sure to select the correct Hotspot Server (not “all”).
Step 5: Connect AX3000 to MK and Test
- Connect AX3000’s LAN cable to MK’s ethernet2–ethernet4 port.
- Use your phone or laptop to connect to AX3000 WiFi.
- Hotspot login page will pop up within 30s.
- Enter username/password from Step 4 to access internet.
Note for Admin Access
After setup, Mikrotik can only be managed via WinBox if login redirect interferes.
- Download WinBox software from Mikrotik official site.
- Use MAC address login if IP access fails due to Hotspot redirection.
