Mosslink Wireless Solution for Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park

How to choose the right outdoor access point for my needs?
When selecting an outdoor access point, consider factors such as coverage area, environmental durability, supported wireless standards, power options, and network capacity. It’s important to choose a device that offers strong weather resistance, stable signal transmission, and compatibility with your existing infrastructure.
Mosslink Outdoor Access Points are engineered to meet these demands, featuring rugged housings, flexible mounting solutions, multiple power supply modes, and advanced wireless technologies like MU-MIMO and beamforming, ensuring reliable performance across various outdoor scenarios.

Industry Demand

For ordinary home users, Wi-Fi is essential for browsing the web, streaming shows, gaming, shopping online, and using social media. However, for businesses, Wi-Fi plays a much more critical role. To meet the demands of modern travelers and improve operational efficiency, theme parks are increasingly recognizing the importance of network infrastructure. Many parks have built wireless networks to enhance visitor experience, attract more foot traffic, and elevate the overall service quality.

Project Overview

The Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park, located in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin, is a large-scale military-themed park centered around the Ukraine’s “Kiev” Aircraft Carrier. The park spans over 220,000 square meters and integrates several areas, including aircraft carrier tours, military equipment exhibitions, theme performances, meetings, team training, defense education, leisure activities, and film shoots.

According to industry reports, the park is the first single attraction in Tianjin to exceed 100 million yuan in revenue, attracting over 1.4 million visitors annually, averaging 117,000 visitors per month. It has become a landmark tourist destination in Tianjin.

Project Requirements

Given the large number of visitors, the park’s wireless needs have become complex and diverse. Key requirements include:

  1. Seamless Wi-Fi Coverage: Ensuring full coverage throughout the park while supporting roaming for mobile devices.
  2. High Concurrent User Capacity: Supporting large numbers of simultaneous connections, providing adequate bandwidth for all users.
  3. User Session Management: Ensuring timely allocation and recycling of network resources.
  4. Openness and Compatibility: Supporting mainstream wireless devices and seamless integration with controllers and servers from major wireless device manufacturers.
  5. Wi-Fi Authentication for Marketing: Enabling Wi-Fi login to support online marketing efforts and boost economic benefits.
  6. Wireless Surveillance System: Ensuring stable video surveillance data transmission to maintain park safety and assist in operational management.

Solution

1. Network Construction

To provide robust wireless coverage in the park’s outdoor spaces, considering the numerous buildings and scenic features, we chose Mosslink’s Wave 2 Gigabit Dual-Band Outdoor Access Points, such as the AX3000. These APs are installed in wall-mounted positions to minimize signal interference from obstacles and optimize coverage. They are powered via PoE, reducing the cost of wiring.

For indoor spaces like the ticketing area, we use the GA820 Wave 2 Gigabit Dual-Band Ceiling AP, capable of supporting dense user environments with 802.11ac Wave 2 technology, offering a throughput of up to 1200Mbps.

GW3000 High-Performance Smart Gateway is used as the network gateway, providing efficient NET forwarding performance, along with features such as private cloud/SD-WAN, smart flow control, and security management. It integrates the entire park’s Wi-Fi under a single SSID, ensuring seamless roaming.

Online Marketing Platform
Mosslink’s GW3000 supports multiple authentication modes and integrates with cloud platforms, enabling visitor login through Wi-Fi. Once connected, the Portal page presents marketing content such as park information, promotions, and services, contributing to brand-building and service enhancement. Data collected from Wi-Fi access is used for targeted advertisements, improving the park’s marketing effectiveness.

Wireless Surveillance System
With a complex and dynamic environment, the park has stringent security requirements. We implemented Mosslink GE900 Digital Bridges for wireless surveillance across key areas such as entrances, exhibits, restaurants, and parking lots. All surveillance data is transmitted through the GE900 bridges, ensuring stable, low-latency signal transmission. The bridges are powered by PoE, facilitating easy installation and maintenance.

The cloud management feature allows remote control, ensuring real-time surveillance monitoring and providing a unified management platform for administrators, which enhances overall safety and efficiency.

Project Summary

Providing free Wi-Fi has become a fundamental service for the park, but it’s essential not to compromise on the user experience despite the free offering. The implementation of a high-quality, seamless wireless network not only improves visitor satisfaction but also boosts the park’s reputation and service quality.

Mosslink’s wireless network solution for the Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park integrates Wi-Fi coverage, online marketing, and surveillance transmission into a single system, ensuring convenient services for visitors and operational safety for the park. This all-in-one solution also brings significant economic benefits for park operators, delivering excellent performance and receiving positive customer feedback.
